"Walk with Words" — Speech Therapy Group

When a child’s language development is slower than other children of the same age, or when their social skills are weaker, parents often notice that the child has trouble communicating. For example, they may find it hard to understand the teacher’s complex instructions, or struggle to express themselves clearly, which affects how they interact with classmates and others. The Evangel Hospital Psychological Assessment and Counseling Centre understands parents’ concerns. To help, they have introduced two special programs: the Narrative Skills Group and the Social Skills Group. These programs aim to improve children’s storytelling ability, help them understand emotions, and build good social relationships, preparing them for school and daily life.
Two groups are designed for different needs:
Narrative Skills Group

children from K2 to Primary 1 Through fun story sharing and practice, children will improve their storytelling skills, vocabulary use, and fluency in expression. This is especially helpful for kids preparing for Primary School interviews. |

Social Skills Group

| Target: |
For children aged 5 to early primary school Especially welcoming children who are weaker in social skills or have Special Educational Needs (SEN). The group focuses on social interaction, understanding other people’s thoughts, and giving appropriate responses. It helps children build friendships and adjust to school life. |

Notes:
For children receiving speech therapy services at our centre for the first time, a free 15-minute individual consultation must be arranged before the first group session. This allows our registered speech therapist, Ms. Stephanie Siu to better understand the child’s needs
