Rev. Dr. Robert Chapman, one of the founding missionaries of Evangel Hospital, rested in the Lord on 22 June 2026. Evangel Hospital, together with the Evangelical Free Church of China (EFCC) and EFCC Elim Church, will hold a memorial service at Evangel Seminary on 14 August. The memorial service will be officiated by Rev. Chan Wing Chau, with a biographical tribute delivered by Rev. Ken Chan, and the message preached by Rev. Dr. Kwok Man Chee. Together, we will remember Dr. Chapman’s exemplary life and witness, expressing our deep gratitude and loving memory for his lifetime of faithful service.

Beautiful Footprints of Faith

Dr. Chapman was a missionary sent to Hong Kong by the Evangelical Free Church, as well as a co-founder and the first superintendent of Evangel Hospital. He served faithfully for 32 years, devoting his life to the medical mission ministry. Demonstrating both profound clinical excellence and compassionate care through action, Dr. Chapman not only laid a solid foundation for the hospital, but also cared for countless patients with selfless love — touching and inspiring many lives, and bringing healing and hope to many families.

Though Dr. Chapman has now rested in the Lord, his missionary passion and living testimony will remain forever deeply rooted in the hearts of all who walked alongside him. We cordially invite our fellow colleagues, brothers and sisters, and friends to attend the memorial service to remember a life filled with grace and devotion.
